AP1080 is a new efficient halogen-free flame retardant based on organic phosphinates and nitrogen. The product is a white granule, has high phosphorus content, low water absorption, no hydrolysis, no precipitation, insoluble in water and acetone, dichloromethane, butanone, toluene and other organic solvents. The polymer containing AP1080 can expand the carbon layer in the process of combustion, which can prevent fire and flame retardation.

AP1080 is suitable for PBT and PA6. The modified materials show good physical and electrical properties, have good carbon self extinguishing, and are more cost-effective than the commonly used antimony flame retardant systems.
